Mixed Media Ideas
Idea 1
I had a lot of fun creating designs for mixed media as I had a lot of freedom with what I could use or do, I decided that my designs would feature a combination of photography, digital art and traditional paintings or illustrations. I really enjoyed creating this first design, and I liked the idea of having the artists name contained within the lips, I thought that this made design sense, as the artist is called "Blue Lips". The facial shape would have been created digitally, as would the lips and typography, however the sunglasses and disco balls would be painted. I also though that maybe the albums title could drawn too, to give the title a unique and homemade font. I thought that this design would come across as quirky, and tongue in cheek, or should I say word in lips.
Idea 2
The second idea i had was to do something inspired by photomontage, I would take a photo of me sitting, and a drawn image of a disco ball, and combine the two for the cover, with my photograph being positioned to look like I am sitting on the disco ball. I decided that I wanted the typography to be wrapped around the disco ball, I thought that this would draw attention to the artwork and show it off so to speak.
Idea 3
This was a very simple design, I would use a photo of myself and some traditionally drawn flowers, This made me think of the flower power generation, very girly and vibrant, although I wasn't sure if flower power was related to disco or strictly a hippy thing. I would use a digital font to keep it professional and streamlined.
Idea 4
Now for this idea, I wanted it to have a meaning, so, I decided to go with the saying "the world is your oyster", so I thought it would be fun to do a disco ball in a clam, although not an oyster, the meaning could still be grasped, I would also overlay a photo of myself on the ball to make it seem like my face was reflected in it. The disco ball would have been painted, the and the clam painted or created digitally. I would also use a digital font to keep it looking professional.
