Lady Gaga Vogue Cover
All of the magazine covers on this page have followed conventions by having a masthead, cover-lines and a main image. However Vogue magazines masthead differs as it gives out a much more poised and refined vibe than any of the other mastheads on the covers on this page. This is because they have used a Bodoni font and Bodoni fonts are usually considered refined. The cover has an overall quirky but professional feel, which contrasts with the other more feminine and casual covers. It contrasts very greatly with the Inked magazine cover which in contrast has a much more tough and masculine feel to it. The overall layout organisation is quite messy in my opinion, compared to the more simple organisation of the Inked magazine cover. The cover has a pastel colour scheme, which contrasts with the more bright and bold colours used in, for example the Bliss cover below. When it comes to the text on this cover, they have used only two colours for the text, this differs greatly from the Bliss cover as the Bliss cover has used a variety of different coloured fonts. The mode of address is soft, but confident, this contrasts with the mode of address on Inked magazine which has an intimidating mode of address as the person is look down on the viewer. Lady Gaga's head covers the "G" in "Vogue", although on the Bliss cover, the masthead has been overlayed ontop of the cover image. Vogue magazine has a majorly refined female audience, this is why they have used pastel colours as pastel colours are sometimes seen as sophisticated, this contrasts with Inked magazines audience which prefer much more bold, intimidating and rock-inpsired covers.

Taylor Swift Bliss Cover:
This contrasts significantly with the cover above as this cover has a much more feminine and casual feel to it, despite having striking colours, in contrast with the more subtle colours on the Vogue cover and on the Company magazine cover. This cover has much more modern-sans-serif fonts in contrast to the old-fashioned Bodoni font used on the cover above and on the Inked magazine cover. This magazine's layout is probably more messy than any of the covers on this page, it's the polar opposite when it comes to organisation in contrast with the Inked magazine cover. This is the only cover on this page that has a lure, in contrast with the other covers which don't. The masthead is in a bold hot-pink, this contrasts greatly with the black mastheads on the Vogue and Inked covers. Bliss magazine is a teen gossip magazine which has a much more modern female audience, this is why they have used colours that are usually associated with girly-ness and teenage girls, in contrast with the more masculine colour scheme of the Inked magazine cover. The mode of address is a sharp, confident gaze, some people might find this intimidating and some people would be lured in by it, however, it is certainly not as intimidating as the mode of address on the Inked magazine cover.

Whitney Port Company Cover:
This cover is still quite feminine, however the colour scheme is much more natural and organic, in contrast with the bright artificial colour scheme of the Inked magazine cover and the Bliss magazine cover above. This cover gives out a boho chic/hippie vibe, in contrast with the rocker, gothic and tough vibes of the Inked magazine cover. The masthead is in a sans-serif font which spans the entire width of the page in contrast with the masthead on the Vogue cover, which is in the top centre of the page. The fonts used are girly and casual, in contrast with the more formal looking fonts on the Vogue and Inked magazine covers. The organisation of the cover lines gives out a much more artsy and home-made feel than the more bold cover lines on the Bliss cover. The magazines target audience is young-women, so they have used colours that co-ordinate with that, this is a very delicate and dainty cover, in contrast to the more tough and hard edged Inked magazine cover. The mode of address is a soft delicate, gaze, again this contrasts with the intimidating mode of address on the Inked cover below.

Kat Von D Inked Cover:
This cover greatly contrasts with all of the above covers, because it's intimidating, tough, rock-inspired and dark. The masthead contrasts greatly with all the other mastheads on the covers on this page, because it's not a font you'd see every day, unlike the other masthead fonts, this font is very unique and customised. The cover has used very legible fonts, this is similar to the Vogue cover. This has to be the most organised front cover on this page. Unlike the Vogue and Bliss covers, this cover doesn't have it's UPC on the front. The colour scheme is mostly black with flashes of white. The mode of address on this cover is intimidating and confrontational. In contrast with all of the other covers, this is the polar opposite of all of them. The target audience is people that are fans of rock music, tattoos and body art. Because of this they have chosen a monochromatic colour scheme.
